L'Equipe revealed his top 100 players in the World Cup History. 3 days before the 2014 World Cup Final.

This ranking was compiled by journalist Vincent Duluc. He did not miss to explain that "it is already difficult to be in agreement with yourself, so to be in agreement with all the readers was mission impossible". That "now we should start with the list of the ones who have been forgotten". That "we'd like to go back to the printing house in order to make a last change, in order to bring an ultimate justice to the History of the game". But.

A short, but complete profile accompanied the thumbnails of the five first players in this ranking. A very condensated one accompanied the players numbers 6-100.

This article was published Friday, July 10th, 2014. And here's the ranking (with years of participation, if at least one match played, that it's me, it's unclear in the article as Ronaldo has 1994 but Yashin has not 1970 for example).

Who's ranked to high? Too low? Who's missing? Who... should not make the top 100?

For example, for now, quickly I'd say that Yashin is ranked too high, that Carlos Alberto and Scirea are missing and that Cannavaro should not make the top 100.

About Cannavaro, the author of the article of L'Equipe specifies that if it was only the journalists' votes, Cannavaro would not have had the Ballon d'Or in 2006 (so probably not the World Cup M.V.P award too?). Among the players that he feels that they could  have make the list, he throws the names of  Moore, Bellini, Boniek, Gascoigne, Monti, Bebeto, Rivera...Carlos Alberto, Figo, Batista (must be Batistuta), Stojkovic and "many others", that "no, we have not forgotten, but it's a top 100 and not a top 119 or a top 127".
